A Man To Pray

'Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. '

James 5:16

__________

“...The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”. Where there is a man to pray, there is a God to answer. See a man who dwells in a place of prayer, you see a man who is the carrier of God’s presence.

The difference between a worshipper who prays and one who doesn’t is that 'the who prays, worships from the presence of God while the other worship into the presence of God; Prayer makes the difference'. The mystery and power of prayer has been proven for ages, and this mystery made the difference in the lives of the patriarchs of old. Men like Moses, Elijah, Elisha had their lives transformed by the erection of prayer altars dedicated to God Every time they journeyed. There was no 'bible' or 'manual' for them, they had to hear from God directly through prayers. You may say..” oh...these are men of the old covenant” Well, let's see the book of Mark.

'Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. '

Mark 1:35

__________

We see here that Jesus also did the same, isolating himself in prayer, he didn’t start a day without prayer. No wonder the disciples asked in Luke 11 saying “...Lord teach us to pray” they had seen what prayer had done in the life of their Master.

Elijah could call down fire because he was a man of prayer; Moses could almost behold the Glory of God and part the Red sea because of the same reason; Abraham, the Father of Faith could trust the directions he received from God because he was a man of prayer. Our Lord Jesus Christ could endure the Cross because he was a man of prayer.

'During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. '

Hebrews 5:7

___________

These Men show us one important thing; "WE CANNOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF WE ARE NOT PEOPLE OF PRAYER". Until today, the lives of these men are still being referred to. You may say 'oh...i do pray with people, go to conferences and the likes'... well Jesus prayed more than everything else and he is the perfect example we should follow.

Conferences, motivational talk cannot substitute for your personal time and prayer with God. Remember in Psalm 91.

'He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.'

Psalms 91:1

___________

Note that it says secret place...not conferences and gatherings. "The secret place is a place between you and God." A place where you both meet, where your prayers like incense rise before him.

Another reason out of many to pray is because, we wrestle not against the flesh (physical beings nor things)! One of the reasons for our existence is to, wrestle against principalities, power, and pulling down every stronghold and we can do this through prayer.

'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.'

Ephesians 6:12

_____________

We see here that the word 'wrestle' was used. This shows that, we are all on a battlefield and there is a fight going on and prayer is a major weapon of spiritual warfare.

Our Father! God, wants to change our lives, end suffering, change the course of time and end wickedness and evil, build his Kingdom and express his tabernacle that is built inside of us...if only there is "a man to pray."

You can be that man! You can save the nation! You can save your family from the grip of hell! Your prayers are powerful and effective!. God is ready and willing to answer if only we can bow our knees and pray. 'For every Family and nation there are intercessors and until they bow and pray things may not change.' God is waiting for 'You' to pray so that he can answer!

I urge you today my dear to take the bull by the horn, go on a holy pilgrimage with God..not into Jerusalem or Israel but on your knees. That is the place where matters are settled...on your knees!
