Get Rid Of Worrying

The sad reality is that most people battle a lot with their thoughts and how to control their minds and this often does not help them get much done.

Worry means to fret. To be disturbed, and to be anxious. However, what did Jesus say to us?

Jesus said, “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?”

Matthew 6:28-30

When you worry here’s what happens:

Yes! Absolutely Nothing! Jesus asked, “So, which one of you by worrying could add anything to your life?” Matthew 6:27.Meaning no matter how much you worry, you can not produce fruit from worry.

Worry leads to lack of sleep, weakness in the Spirit, soul and body thus causing to more stress on the body.

“A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul. But the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression.”

Proverbs 17:22

Spiritual instability:

Worrying definitely takes your focus off the word of God and off Jesus and once you’re distracted from Him you become unstable spiritually.

Let’s talk about how to stop worry:

Thanksgiving and Prayer

When I was about 8 years old, a certain message was preached to me on casting your cares on Christ through thanksgiving. Now, at the time I use to get very anxious whenever I was searching for something but that day I made up my mind to simply cast my cares on Him. So anytime I was searching for something I would pray a simple prayer, “Thank you Jesus cause I know that item is making its way back to me” then I stop looking and in a few minutes it pops up. I have done this for years and years, and it always works. I have applied the same principles to my academics and so many other things, and the Lord has never failed me, that’s how confident i am that He won’t fail you.

The Bible say in Philippians 4:6-7,

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”And in 1 Peter 5:7,“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Building up your faith:

“above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”

Ephesians 6:16

You must build up your faith and utilize it. Your faith is a very powerful weapon. Read our previous post On How to Build Your Faith

Proclaim His word:

“...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Hebrews 13:5-6

You must learn to affirm what God has said about you or the situation in His word. When you shine God's Light on a certain situation, the darkness flees (“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never overcome it.” John 1:5)

Guard your heart :

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Proverbs 4:23.

Learning to guard your mind and prevent negative thoughts from getting in is a very important step in growing up. You can not say you are grown up with a loose mind.

I recommend you study ‘The Power of Your Mind by Pastor Chris’ it would change your mind.

Focus on Him:

Refuse to focus on worrying or fear and focus on Christ. Who He is and Who is He to you. Mediate on His personality and His instructions to you. Do not deviate from this consciousness.

“... us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith...”Hebrew 12:1-3

It is my heartfelt prayer that the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all. Amen.

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Romans 8:31.

Be encouraged.
