“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us now and forevermore.”
When I was younger, I never really focused in church asides bible storytime and snack time. One of the statements that caught my attention was ‘Let’s share The Grace in fellowship’ I loved that statement, to me it meant time to go home and it made me happy.
But the Grace is more than that, 3 divine gifts are declared when making this confession (Confession means to declare faith in God; to agree with God). So when you say:
The Grace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ:
Grace, the power with which the new creation performs his task. Grace takes you out of sin and into righteousness, Romans 16:13
The Love of God:
In Greek, 'Agapē tou Theou' which is the highest form of love. It is the love that purifies the heart and is self-sacrificing.
The Fellowship (koinōnia) of The Holy Spirit:
A fellowship that shows joint participation, community and partnership. A fellowship with the Holy Spirit in common interest and activity in the things of God.
You declare God's Grace, His love and joint fellowship with Him. Saying The Grace gives you to the ability to declare every one of these divine gifts.
Blessed be God. Have an amazing time at service tomorrow!
