“Then David summoned Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel and Amminadab the Levites. He said to them, “You are the heads of the Levitical families; you and your fellow Levites are to consecrate yourselves and bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place I have prepared for it. It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.” So the priests and Levites consecrated themselves in order to bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel.”
1 Chronicles 15:11-14
Most Christians do not realize that in the house of God, Our Father, there’s an order. Romans 12:1 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
The word 'acceptable' reveals that there’s an order of things in the house of God and there’s also a demand to follow that order.
Paul went on to say “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 Again the word ‘acceptable’. This verse says to be able to prove, discern, analyze the will of God (what is good and acceptable and perfect) you must first renew your mind with the word. Studying and meditating on the word of God is very important.
“And so, from the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” Amen
“like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment],”
1 Peter 2:2
Paul says to study the word so that you can mature! Hallelujah! Don’t say I have been doing what I like, and it has been working. Refuse to live a cheap baby spiritual life. Now is the time to get mature. Don’t be like the 5 foolish virgins who failed to be prepared and didn’t oil their lamps.
He is coming again. He’s coming for a church without spots, blemish or any such thing, a church that’s holy and undefiled, a church that’s living and acting in faith. So stop all that “at least I’m doing” talk and find out what is required of you in the house of God, and do it wholeheartedly.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
It’s my heartfelt prayer that God continues to guide you and that you are filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might in Jesus name. Amen
