“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”
One truth about Peace that most Christians tend to overlook is that it is independent of substances. Jesus in our opening verses says, “In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; BUT be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” We all know from English class that the word BUT negates or cancels everything that goes before it. And it is generally accepted as a signal that the really important part of the sentence is coming up.
Jesus in His loving kindness made that statement to remind us that no matter the circumstances we have perfect peace. Hallelujah!
How do you live a life full of perfect peace?
Through Jesus Christ:
"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Christ is the source through which the peace of God flows into our spirit. It is an inheritance for those in Christ alone; who have accepted, through faith, what He did on the cross. Jesus told us in the world you have tribulations, trials, distress and frustration but He made peace through His blood, shed on the cross, Colossians 1:20.
If you are not yet in Christ click (here), say the prayer of salvation and fill the form. We would get back to you with lots of gifts to help you grow in Christ. God bless you.
Through the Holy Spirit:
“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
You can’t have the Holy Spirit without first accepting Christ into your life. And as you consistently fellowship with the Holy Spirit, He would produce in you the fruits of the Spirit.
Through studying the Word:
The Bible says, Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 2 Peter 1:2. And you get this knowledge by studying and meditating on the word of God, Psalms 119:165.
Through Prayer and Thanksgiving:
“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”
The Bible says offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude, tell Him every detail of your life.
What a life of overflowing victory we live! There’s no reason to have a bad day except you choose to. He has given us all the materials we require for life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
