The Sun and Her Flowers is a collation of some of Rupi Kaur’s poetry split into 5 chapters: Wilting, Falling, Rooting, Rising, and Blooming. I honestly did relate more to her previous novel - Milk and Honey as because it focused on her self-development and relationship, but The Sun and her flowers unveiled Rupi’s deeply rooted love for her roots which makes it my favorite Rupi Kaur Literature.
My favourite chapter is rooting and my favourite poem is broken english.
In broad summary, Rupi takes us through lost, lovelessness, sadness, searching for light. She urges that we take charge of our lives in order to make the best of ourselves; stating that we don’t give society room to dictate how we spend our time on earth - to be free, to love and appreciate one another, and to love life to the fullest.
