Witness For Jesus

If Jesus began his ministry in 2020. What would it be like? Would it be any different? Can we be the Jesus in our day? Can we heal the sick and cast out devils just like he did back in the Bible days? The answer is Yes! We can and we should!

I seek to change your perspective on the Great Commision from more than an obligation to a natural response.

Jesus said:

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Acts 1:8

_______

The word ‘witness’ in this scripture is from a Greek word; 'martus'. It means one who is a spectator of anything. Like for example, someone who watched a football match.

Now let's say that person was deeply moved by the match and he goes on to tell someone else, not just about the scorelines but how he felt watching the match. This will be another greek word; 'martureo' which means to bear witness.

Remember how it felt to go on a roller coaster (or any exhilarating experience). The feeling, and how you just wanted to share it with someone, maybe your sister, father, cousin, best friend, fiancee etc. You couldn't wait to share the experience...

Part of God's plan is that we experience his 'divine power' and 'realness' in our personal lives and as a result of its effect in our lives we share the same experience with others with our words and our actions. That's kind of what it means to witness to others about Jesus Christ.

Living the Christian life is simple! If I have experienced unconditional love from God I should extend that same love to someone else. If I saw a healing miracle in the Bible or in present day at a meeting, or maybe experienced such in my body I should do the same for someone else. If I have experienced the infilling of the spirit and had his effect in my life I should gladly want to share him with someone else.

Christianity is not a bunch of obligatory rules to be followed so not to end up in hell. God's plan was for you and I to experience his goodness and share it with someone else!

Freely you have received, freely give.

Hallelujah!

DAVILANDA

Romans 10:9-10
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
