Are you struggling with a habit and you have tried many things to correct the habit and it's not working out? There's no big deal about it, The devil tries to make it look like it's a big deal and it can not be surmountable, it's not true.
You know, before David conquered Goliath, they said 'ah he's too big, we can not conquer him', but David saw him differently, he had a different perspective of Goliath.
“The Israelites said, ‘Look at this man! He is so big! He shouts bad things at us all the time. He insults our nation, Israel. King Saul will give many good things to a man who can kill Goliath. The king will also let that man marry his daughter. His family will never again have to pay taxes to the king.’”
1 Samuel 17:25
The Israelites said 'look at this man!, he's so big". David said Goliath is insulting Israel and we must stop him. David also told King Saul 'We should not be afraid of this Philistine, I will go and I will fight against Goliath'. The Israelites saw a very big man, but David saw an ordinary Philistine serving a false god.
All you need to do is to change the way you see that habit, it is not big, you can conquer it, You can defeat it!. My first question for you is, 'Are you born again?'
“The cravings of the self-life are obvious: Sexual immorality, lustful thoughts, pornography, chasing after things instead of God, manipulating others, hatred of those who get in your way, senseless arguments, resentment when others are favored, temper tantrums, angry quarrels, only thinking of yourself, being in love with your own opinions, being envious of the blessings of others, murder, uncontrolled addictions, wild parties, and all other similar behavior. Haven’t I already warned you that those who use their “freedom” for these things will not inherit the kingdom realm of God!”
It says if you still feed the cravings of the flesh, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
So give your heart to the Lord Romans 10:9-10
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Once you believe in your heart and confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ, You are saved!
You have a new Lord now, your flesh or your human senses can not Lord over you anymore. The authority has changed.
As a Christian, you can not live perfectly without the Holy Ghost, receive the Holy Spirit by faith into your heart now. Christianity is a life of faith. The Holy Spirit can not come into your heart without your 'permission,' so right now permit the Holy Spirit into your heart.
this is where I'm going to exactly...
“But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).”
As a Christian, walk and live habitually in the Holy Spirit, 'Habitually!'
What is a habit?
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 'A habit is a usual way of behaving: Something that a person does often in a regular and repeated way.'
Galatians 5:16 says "HABITually walk and live in the Holy Spirit..." Instead of allowing the worldly habit to control you, be controlled, guided, and respond to the holy spirit only, do this regularly and repeatedly. Let it become your new habit.
Replace the worldly habit with the 'spirit-habit'
The Spirit habit is genuine and it is of God.
The worldly habit is of the devil and destructive
Spend time to study God’s word daily, pray in the holy ghost, listen to messages/sermons, read spirit-edifying books, do these repeatedly and you will become what you read and listen to.
“But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves upon the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit.”
Jude (Judah) 1:20
